Personal life
From Kamaljit neeru biography we can learn about her personal life. Neeru is from Khanna, India. As a kid, she travelled all around India because her father was serving in the Indian military. She is one of her 5 siblings. She loved to swim and participated in track & field competitively in school. She was pursuing a pre-medical degree prior to getting married, but after being married in 1980, she went to the UK, postponing her studies to pursue her passion of singing, which eventually turned into a career. Kamaljit Neeru husband name is Sukhbir and he is a retired pilot. Neeru, her spouse, and their son presently reside in Vancouver.

As a hobbyist, Neeru started making music in 1982 in England, just as the Punjabi community was starting to establish its distinct sound. While the entire Punjabi musical tradition originated in that region, a tiny but rapidly growing Bhangra community emerged in the early 20th century. A.S. Kang, Heera Group, Alaap Group, Apna Sangeet, as well as DCS were among the artists who spearheaded this.
Over dinner one night, Neeru was approached by Baldev Mastana, a famous music director from England along with a friend of the family, who invited her to join his band, The Saathi.
Duppatte Kale Urde, Neeru’s 1982 debut record with HMV, was a collaborative effort featuring other musicians. Behja Behja Hoju Mitra, a song by Neeru, is featured on this album.
Sardool Sikander, Hans Raj Hans, Harbhajan Mann, Satwinder Bugga, Sabar Koti, Amar Noori, as well as the late Parminder Sandhu were among the musicians with whom Neeru collaborated on seven albums, while nine of her own solo albums were successful.
She was able to pierce the glass ceiling that had long stood between female singers and a world dominated by Punjabi music when she started out, and she went on to achieve great success.
Nearly each town and city in Punjab has seen Neeru perform. Her concert repertoire includes stops in Canada, the United States, New Zealand, Dubai, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Netherlands, and England.
Among Neeru’s latest three singles, released in the years 2017 and 2018, are Tor Dita Lalan Nu, Jago Wali Raat and her debut devotional song. Along with her work as a judge on Miss PTC Punjabi and Mr. Punjab in 2017 for every season of 2017 – 2018, she is quite active on Punjabi tv as well.
